Virus Barrier May 11, 2008
By D. Jones This is a very fast product, and having it run in the background is a big plus.It is easier to set up and use than NAV. It does conflict with Time Capsule/Time Machine if you use it, but there is a very easy solution. Go to the Virus Barrier preferences, click on the Scanner icon, then put the "sparse barrier" file (from Time Machine) into your Trusted Zone and it will then run without conflicts.

doesn't seem to be a memory hog Feb 05, 2009

"love my mac"
I like it better than I do Norton, for antivirus protection on my Mac. I have it set to run at a certain time during the week when I'm online, and it hasn't slowed down my connection or my computer like Norton did, and updates are easy. I would recommend it, and I'll purchase it again at the end of one year.

subscription renewal price Dec 02, 2008
By Jc Gordon why is it that no place on their web site (or any place else where it is reviewed) is there any mention of the cost of the one year renewal price for the virus signatures? it would make a difference if it was $20/year or $200/year.
UPDATE: if you're interested, i wrote to them and they said $19.95 (as of 12/02/2008). the original comment still stands though ...

What does it detect??? It didn't catch my test. Mar 27, 2009
By Amazon Reviews I bought this about 5 months ago. I was always concerned because I never found a list of viruses that it checks for. I decided to test it. I put a PC virus on a thumbrive and scanned it with VirusBarrier. It didn't catch it. It gave me the all clear with the most current definitions. Both Norton and McAfee 2009 easily caught it. I'd stay away from this product.
Not sure if it catches anything.
