QuickBooks, a good program for a business Aug 28, 2010 I have used QuickBooks for many years and upgraded to a newer program QB 2008. I would have liked to upgrade to the latest program (QB 2010) but for the price of the 2008 version, I felt this would be just as good, and probably not as many "bells and whistle."
QuickBooks is easy to use once learned, and it makes bookkeeping much easier than any other program I have encountered.

It Worked But Needed Help Converting May 02, 2010 I am satify with my purchase, the price was very good and shipped quickly.
I bought Quickbooks Pro because everything I read about it said it could convert my Microsoft Accounting to Quickbooks.
I finally had to call Quickbooks to get this done and it took about an hour or so on the phone. Quickbooks reps were very helpful.
It did convert my files and I am happy with the program so far. It has been easier to use than I expected.

Easy to use Apr 01, 2010 I started using Quickbooks in 1996. I have been forced into upgrades many times and that is the part that I would give only one star. If you don't want to upgrade--your tax tables will not work. That is just wrong. Overall the product is the easiest to use that I have found--of course that is after you really get it working the way you want it to. I have had upgrades go smoothly and there were upgrades that nearly drove me insane.
I pay $349 per year for enhanced payroll but there is basic payroll service if you want to save a little money. I enjoy the enhanced service because I can pay payroll taxes straight from Quickbook, can efile tax forms from Quickbooks, track Worker Comp and file state forms. At one time (before the crash) I had 200 employees and run it through Quickbooks with no problems. My biggest complaint is on the new Pro 2008 I cannot have different shipping addresses for customer sub-accounts. One customer may several different orders that I like to seperate usually adding a number in the shipping address but, even though Pro 06 let me, Pro 08 wont.
It can be very frustrating, trust me I think I may have cried a few times dealing with install & upgrades. BUT, once I get it all done and working the way I want it to I am very happy with it.

Good product - shot myself in the foot Mar 23, 2010 I decided... what's the big deal if I go with an older version. Big deal is that I was previously using the simple start program and it was 2009 version. So when I tried to import my data it wouldn't work because the simple start was newer than the Quick Books pro. Oh well. I'll update in a couple years and import the data then. Other than my ignorance, the product is great!

QB 2008 - Great Mar 05, 2010 QB 2008 is a great piece of software. It is a great improvement over previous versions of the software. Their support department is very helpful as well. Well worth the price.
